Growing Edible Education
A Symposium
of Best Practices
Friday, Oct. 9th
8:30 am to 7:30 pm : 
 
Track focused site visits. All groups will have a mid-day farm-to-school lunch site for lunch, and all tours will be to pre-arranged best practices locations to witness programs in action and interview program leaders.
 
Hands-on experience in pre-set garden and kitchen cooking stations. Learn approaches to using fresh produce to prepare healthy snacks and school meals.
 
Keynote and evening meal.

Saturday, Oct. 10th
8:00 am to 4:00 pm :
 
Panel discussions.
Lunch provided by SBUSD Mobile Cafe.
Break out sessions.

Purpose and Scope:
To highlight and share best practices across San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties in early childhood through college level garden-food education and farm-to-school/garden-to-table food service. Visit garden, food service and farm education programs; attend break-out sessions and meals that engage participants in farm-to-school best practices.

Registration fees vary depending on the sessions and days you select. You may attend both days (Friday and Saturday), all day either Friday or Saturday, or partial session on Friday and full day on Saturday.
