MLK Jr. National Holiday Day of Events

Entire Day of Events and Activities:

9:00 a.m. -10 a.m. Morning Program - De La Guerra Plaza

Gathering at De La Guerra Plaza, downtown Santa Barbara, to begin the day .
Appearances by local and state officials.  The program will begin with a
prayer.  Following will be celebratory speakers, gospel singing and dancing
by World Dance for Humanity.   10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. The morning program
will transition to our annual "Unity March" from De La Guerra Plaza to the
historic Arlington Theatre.   11:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.

Arlington Theater. Inspirational program of celebration will include Native
American Ceremonial Opening, MLK film clips,  a world-renown vocalist, and
winning Essay and Poetry entries from local school (public and independent),
will be read by student winners. Dance by the Santa Barbara Dance Institute,
including students from Santa Barbara Middle School.
