Hello All,

The Santa Barbara Edible Education Symposium (SBEES) has extended our Request for Proposals deadline until August 30, 2019. We are looking for presenters for 30 or 75 minute workshops organized in the following tracks: School Gardens, Food Literacy/Nutrition, Edible Education Curriculum, and Food Production- large and small scale. The Symposium is on October 11 and 12 in Santa Barbara.

Friday October 11, 2019

Friday Farm Tours: Guests will visit the UCSB Edible Campus Project Student Farm,  Isla Vista Elementary School Garden, Goodland Organics Farm and Trinity Gardens. Staff from each site will lead the group on a guided exploration of these beautiful spaces. Lunch provided!

 

Saturday October 12, 2019

Saturday Symposium at La Cumbre Junior High School

Guests will participate in a variety of hands on 30 and 75 minute workshops, a panel discussion featuring the Nourish Santa Barbara working group, lightning talks, and more surprises! Lunch and snacks provided.

 

Saturday Farm to Table Dinner at Pilgrim Terrace Urban Farm

Guests will enjoy a farm to table dinner and have the opportunity to network and have discussion with workshop presenters and symposium guests. SBEES will present the first annual SBEES Award to Kim Johnson from the Johnson Ohana Foundation for her ongoing leadership and contributions to edible education everywhere!
