Those of us in the city of LA can also get free mulch delivered.  If you 
aren't in Pasadena or LA you might want to pick some up.

I have about half a truckload of mulch that I don't need. I obtained it
through the city of pasadena's free mulch program. It was delivered this
week and is clean and fresh. I underestimated how much a truck could hold
and would like to share it with anyone who can use it. It is available for
pickup for free anytime from my driveway in northwest Pasadena.
