Tomorrow!
CALIFORNIA RARE FRUIT GROWERS - Santa Barbara/Ventura chapter presents...

"BEST APPLE TREES FOR SANTA BARBARA AND VENTURA!”
...

Apple Tasting and Tour of Dave Beamer’s Front Yard Experimental Apple Orchard

WHEN: Saturday, September 21 – 10:30am – 12:30pm

WHERE: 4018 Modoc Road, Santa Barbara.

WHAT: Is it possible to grow many more apple tree
cultivars in coastal California than we thought
we could? Inspired by the pioneering work of
Kuffel Creek Apple Nursery in Riverside,
California (“Apple Trees for Hot Climates and the Tropics” - see
[]
[]
Dave Beamer has been experimenting with various
apple cultivars to see which grow best in Santa
Barbara. We’ll see his young trees and among the
varieties we’ll hopefully taste may be Ashmead’s
Kernel, Spitzenburg, Snow Apple (also called
Fameuse), Hudson’s Golden Gem, Golden Nugget.
Dave will also share his experience growing many other apple trees.

HOW MUCH: Free for CRFG members, $3-5 donation suggested for non-members.

Contact Larry Saltzman at 805 451-4168 for more information.
