Hello fellow permies,

I write this in hopes of discovering individuals who are enthusiastic and
interested in learning about rainwater catchment systems and the
construction of ferrocement water cisterns. Along with my partner I have
recently launched a fundraising campaign for exactly this kind of project
on an agriculture property just outside of Goleta.

The Goal of this project is to install rain-gutters on one 5,000 square
foot greenhouse and connect them to two newly constructed 10,000 gallon
ferrocement storage tanks.

In the process we will hold several community-based, volunteer-days in
order to provide labor for project installation. These volunteer-days will
rely on the helping hands of those who seek to gain first-hand, practical
experience with the construction of ferrocement water-storage tanks. We
hope that participants are able to gain an understanding of the importance
of utilizing rainwater as a primary water source, and are able to
disseminate this knowledge and their experience throughout the larger
Southern California community.

If this at all sounds like a project you would be interested in please
visit our campaign page, which can be found here:

I should mention that this project will become a reality only if we are
able to raise the required money for materials. To this degree we ask that
you consider donating whatever you are able, and help us spread the word to
others who may have an interest in the project. We appreciate your time and
consideration, and hope that this project is able to become a small
fraction of our community's success in managing our available, fresh-water
supply.

Best regards,
